Open burning is allowed in the Town of Vinland unless under extreme dry conditions, Winnebago County calls for a ban on open burning. Burning of yard waste or recreational pit fires are allowed with adult supervision. Under no condition shall there be any burning on public roads. If you are planning on a controlled burn, please call Winnebago County Sheriff's non emergency line: (920)236-7300 . They will ask for for the start time and will request a call back when fire is out.
Dog owners in the Town of Vinland are required by statutes to have a license for each dog you own. You can find this application on the Animal Control page. License fees are due April 1st of each year - $5.00 for neutered or spayed - $10.00 for dogs not neutered or spayed. Verification of rabies vaccination must be provided. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed on each dog/tag not licensed by April 1st.
The Town of Vinland has an ordinance that requires everyone to display an emergency number at the end of your driveway. New homes receive their number from Winnebago County Planning and Zoning. When your zoning permit is issued, the fee will be collected for your blue sign. If you do not currently have these numbers, please call the office. This ordinance is for your protection so that emergency vehicles can locate your home quickly when time is a matter of life or death. Please do your best to keep the sign free of weeds, trees, or any other obstruction.
A request must be made in writing for copies of records. Research fee is $20, along with applicable copy fees depending on the format requested. Any request will be filled within 48 hours unless additional time is needed due to size or older records search is required.
You must have a valid/current operator's license or must have taken a responsible beverage course within the last two years. Renewal is every year by July 1st. Renewal licenses are $25.00. New licenses are $40.00. When you apply for a new license to serve alcohol in a Town of Vinland establishment, you will need a copy of your 'Responsible Beverage Course Certificate'.
